Technician Levels
We use a 5-Level Technician System to give clients transparency and choice when booking.
All technicians are licensed and trained to meet our salon standards. Levels reflect experience, efficiency, and client demand. Pricing increases as artists grow within the salon. There is a $4 price increase in “HANDS” services as stylists get promoted to the next level. Tier pricing does not apply to “FEET” services.
No matter the level, our standards for cleanliness, professionalism, and results remain the same.
-At Nail Nook, we prioritize cleanliness. Each time a client sits down with us, we utilize a set of disinfected instruments, disposable nail file, buffer, sanding band, pumice stone, etc. No reuse here!
-Cuticle removal (manicure) is offered à la carte so you can customize your appointment based on your needs and budget.
-We are not allowed to treat in-grown toe nails as this is out of a nail technician’s scope of practice, as per the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology.

What is Structure Gel?

Like acrylics, but better. Structure gel is applied to your nails to provide the strength of acrylics, and the flexibility of gel. Structure gel flexes WITH your nails as they bend, twist and grow during daily tasks, whereas dip powder and acrylics are hard enhancements that will lift away from your nails over time.
At Nail Nook, we’ve transitioned most of our dip and acrylic clients to structure gel, and the feedback has been incredible. There’s minimal lifting, no heavy filing or soaking off at every appointment, and natural nails remain healthier underneath the protective gel layer.

Can Tips be added to the Structure Gel?
Short answer is yes. However, due to nail glue lifting easily, we only recommend doing this for clients looking to add fairly short extensions to their nails. After one to two follow up appointments, the end goal is to trim away all the tips and glue, so we can work with just natural nails under the structure gel. At this point, clients can choose to grow out their nails to a desired length, or keep them short if preferred!

What is Gel X?

Gel X is done with full coverage gel tips that are adhered to your entire nail beds using a clear gel (not plastic tips that are glued to the edge of your nails). We recommend this approach for clients looking to add long extensions. Once Gel X tips are fully cured, gel polish can be applied (there’s no need for acrylics or any enhancement). If a set of Gel X nails is done well, we proceed with structure gel fill-in at your follow-up appointments.
So can I book acrylic/dip services?
Yes. Acrylic and dip services are limited only to our Murrysville location at the moment, and appointments are hard to come by since only a few stylists offer the services. However, all stylists are well versed in structure gel, and if clients have read this far into the info sheet, this is your sign to give structure gel a shot ;) let us help you embark on a healthier nail journey - you won’t look back!
What is Dazzle Dry?
At Nail Nook, “Regular Polish” services on fingernails are performed with Dazzle Dry, a lacquer system that dries in 5 minutes and outlasts traditional polish, but can be easily removed with polish remover. Clients may opt for traditional polish or bring their own, but pricing does not change. Dazzle Dry on toes is à la carte.
Services Not Offered
At NAIL NOOK, our services are designed around our preferred techniques and the type of results we aim to deliver. For this reason, we do not offer colored acrylic services.
We work exclusively with clear acrylic, which allows for greater flexibility in design, consistent results, and a clean, polished finish. This approach also helps us maintain uniformity in our work and better customize each set based on the client’s preferences.
